Impact generation

At Lobo de Rizzo, we believe that social and environmental responsibility and governance go hand in hand and are essential parts of a law firm that values people, expands opportunities, and acts with purpose. Our commitment stems from our focus on the present in order to pave the way for the future.

We engage in initiatives that share our vision for the future: building relationships of trust, promoting positive impact among our members and clients, and consistently contributing to a more just, humane, and innovative legal market.

Purpose

Through our Social and Environmental Responsibility initiatives, our purpose is to expand training opportunities, broaden knowledge, and enhance access to culture, promoting social inclusion and care for the environment.

Environmental Responsibility Committee

As part of the governance of Lobo de Rizzo's Social and Environmental Responsibility area, a committee dedicated to this purpose was formed with people from different departments of the firm. The objective of this group is to guide our social and environmental strategy, enhancing the impact we want to generate and ensuring alignment and integration between areas.

Volunteer Program

Among Lobo de Rizzo's Social and Environmental Responsibility initiatives, we highlight the Volunteer Program. With different actions throughout the year, its structuring axis is the promotion of culture and education, essential pillars for inclusion, citizenship, and social transformation, in total synergy with our culture.

Firm members are free to choose the projects they will support as volunteers so that they can actively contribute to our Environmental Responsibility purpose. We believe that promoting a culture of belonging is essential for us to generate the expected positive social impact.

Value chain

Lobo de Rizzo constantly promotes partnerships with micro-enterprises managed by women, black people, people with disabilities, and/or members of the LGBTI+ community who, through their activities, are strategically selected to work with us in a wide range of internal and external events promoted by the firm.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Learning from diversity is one of our values. We understand Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as part of who we are and seek practices and policies that support us in building this journey. We are committed to having an increasingly safe and inclusive workplace environment and to contributing to a more inclusive and equal legal market. In fact, since 2023, Lobo de Rizzo's Executive Committee has adopted mandatory gender parity, being composed equally of members who identify as men and women.

 

In order to evolve in our work in the legal market, we believe in diversity of viewpoints. That is why we invest in building diverse teams, with different experiences and backgrounds. In addition to a department dedicated to looking at the issue strategically, the firm has four Affinity Groups that work on the following topics: Ethnic-Racial, People with Disabilities, LGBTI+, and Gender. These groups are made up of members who lead internal discussions on the topic by suggesting actions, creating content to educate the internal audience, promoting roundtable discussions and lectures, among other initiatives.

Legal Alliances

With a firm commitment to promoting a more just and inclusive legal environment, Lobo de Rizzo is proud to be part of two important legal alliances: the Legal Alliance for Racial Equality and the Legal Alliance for Gender Equality.

 

Legal Alliance for Racial Equality
Created in 2018, this multifaceted initiative works directly to combat structural racism, aiming to expand opportunities and promote the full development of Black professionals throughout the national legal market.

Through this collaboration, we actively seek to exchange best practices, create improvement programs, and implement effective affirmative action. Our common goal is to foster inclusion and ensure the retention of Black talent, contributing to a more diverse and representative sector.

 

Legal Alliance for Gender Equality
Complementing this commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Lobo de Rizzo was one of 13 full-service law firms in Brazil that launched, in 2023, the Legal Alliance for Gender Equality initiative to foster professional development, empowerment, and the advancement of female talent in the legal market. This collaboration reiterates our ongoing goal of promoting increasingly equitable work environments for all women.

 

With an inclusive and intersectional approach, this alliance pays special attention to the needs and challenges faced by black women, LGBTI+ women, women with disabilities, and women of other identities. To this end, the group proposes to implement joint actions, ranging from awareness and literacy programs to actively combating unconscious biases, engaging male allies, and continuously exchanging experiences and best practices among member firms.
